On Friday, Spanish midfielder Isco signed a contract extension with Spanish capital club Real Madrid, the club announced via their official website. The new contract runs until June 2022.
Now-25-year-old Isco joined Los Blancos from Málaga CF in summer 2013. Since then the Spanish international has won eleven trophies including three UEFA Champions League titles and a LaLiga trophy. This August, Isco scored a goal against Manchester United in the UEFA Super Cup which was Real Madrid's latest addition to their trophy cabinet.
Since joining the club at age 21, Isco has featured in 192 matches for the club, scoring 33 goals and providing 29 assists. Isco won the UEFA Under-21 Championship in 2013 with Spain, scoring a goal in the final against Italy. Isco has 22 international caps, netting six goals. Earlier this month, Isco scored two goals en route to defeating Italy 3–0 in the FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Per the previous contract, Isco was tied to Real Madrid until June 2018. On Thursday, Real Madrid announced Brazilian full back Marcelo signed a contract extension until June 2022. They join other Real Madrid players including German midfielder Toni Kroos and Welsh midfielder Gareth Bale whose contracts run until June 2022. Kroos and Bale signed contract extensions last year. Madrid announced about agreeing for contract extension with Isco on Thursday.
