Griezmann signs contract extension with Atlético Madrid

Yesterday, Spanish capital club Atlético Madrid announced contract extension of 25-year-old French forward Antoine Griezmann. Griezmann has played for the Rojiblancos for two seasons and now the current contract runs through June 2021.

The club has a solid intention of keeping all its key players and Antoine is one of them

Griezmann joined Atlético from Real Sociedad in 2014. Since then, the Frenchman has scored 57 goals, including 44 La Liga goals. He was Atlético Madrid's top scorer for two consecutive years. This year he scored seven goals in the UEFA Champions League.

After contract extension. Atlético's sporting director José Luis Caminero praised the Frenchman and said "The club has a solid intention of keeping all its key players and Antoine is one of them"((es)).

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported Griezmann's release clause will rise to €100 million.
