The RealSense camera is thinner than a Las Vegas casino chip.
Intel has said new laptops featuring 3D depth camera technology will go on sale this year!

Intel demonstrated how one of the depth sensors could be used to interpret gesture consoles while separating foreground objects from the background at a press conference in Las Vegas.

Intel stated Acer, Asus, Dell, Fujitsu, HP, Lenovo and NEC as the first manufacturers to release the RealSense branded kit.

3D depth technology is nothing new. Microsoft Kinect being one example which already offers the same functionality, however Intel's move could push the new technology to go main-stream as a standard built-in component.
